Derma Pen/Rolling Information

What is Skin Needling?

The Derma Pen CIT has been designed using the most precise fine needles to stimulate production of your own natural collagen. Targeted use of medical grade stainless steel needles instigates regeneration of skin cells via a natural process of healing. It also allows topical nutrients to be more readily absorbed into the skin, encouraging production of collagen and elastin without the risk of invasive techniques that can damage the epidermis.

Look Better Naturally

Pigmentation? Wrinkles? Enlarged pores? Sluggish or loose skin? The Derma pen (CIT) will help to treat these conditions. It is a great alternative for Botox. Developed by trusted experts in Collagen Induction Therapy, this is the only treatment to maximize penetration of essential cell nutrients, and the release of growth factors associated with the positive aspects of wound healing. Natural, effective and affordable…CIT is an investment in the future of your skin.

What is the Difference to Other Skin Rejuvenation Techniques?

What Does it Feel Like?

You may feel some pressure though you will not feel any pain due to the topical anaesthetic that is applied prior to your procedure.

Pre Treatment Care

Your Skin Specialist will recommend homecare products tailored to your needs.

No prolonged sun exposure or sun burns to the treatment area 24 hours prior to treatment.

One week prior to your treatment avoid the use of Topical Retinoid such as Retin-A, Retinol.

Do not have any facial waxing done 48 hours before a treatment.

Clients should be using active ingredients recommended by their Skin Specialist at least two weeks prior to the treatment. This is to maximise treatment outcomes, assist in speeding the healing time and reduces the risk of post peel complications. A specific skin care regime will be recommended to you at your initial consultation.

Post Treatment Care

Your Skin Specialist will advise you on your homecare products to use after the treatment.

Avoid the use of moisturisers or lotions containing active ingredients such as retinol (vitamin A), glycolic acids, perfumes and colours.

Clients’ skin will be a little more sensitive to the sun so keep sun exposure to a minimum. Stay out of the sun for the week after the treatment. Please wear a hat and sunscreen daily.

Slight crusting and/or scabbing in particular areas may develop. If so, please do not rub or pick the skin as this may lead to a scar.

What to Expect After the Treatment

  • Mild to moderate redness and sensitivity in the treated area lasting 12 to 48 hours

  • Mild to moderate swelling for 24 hours (very rare)

  • Dry and tight skin

  • Tiny crusted areas occur all over that feel slightly rough and give a tanned appearance

  • Varying amounts of flaking/peeling occur approximately 3 days after your treatment

  • Makeup is fine to use after 48hours, though just keeping the skin moist often looks better and assists in faster peeling time

  • It is important to protect the new skin from the sun by using a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily and ensuring it is a physical block out.

  • If experienced, inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to pinkish (on average lasts 12 to 24 hours).

  • It only takes 6 weeks to see amazing results and the process will continue over the following months providing you with gradual and long lasting enhancement.
